John Deere promotional biodiesel online video

John Deere CombAs of January 2007, John Deere is providing addition information on biodiesel and other biofuels including a 6.5-minute video that overviews John Deere’s position on the use of biodiesel. Back in 2001 John Deere was one of the first companies to accept lower percentage blends in their equipment (B5) and along with Jeep initiated a factory fill program in 2005. The company continues to invest money and work with the biofuel industry to improve and encourage biodiesel use. Check out the online WMV video at this Deere Website link.

    You very well could be correct Mike — but to be fair to those in ‘small’ farming, they could use a few more dollars per bushel for their crops and frankly a bit more for the milk, eggs, poultry, beef, etc. Take a look at the inflation that everything else has seen for several decades and compare it to farm based produce … there is no comparison.

    But … long term, renewable fuel feedstocks shouldn’t be soybeans and corn IMHO … we need to see a new industry appear around algae based biodiesel and switchgrass based ethanol along with hydrogen fuel cell and much more efficient electric commuter vehicles.
