Still making great music–Van Morrisson

Posted By on February 11, 2015

It is shocking, that with number of music posts over the years that I haven’t included George Ivan “Van” Morrissona oversight!

Van Morrisson started his long successful music career in an Irish band van-morrisonin the 1950s and came to popularity in the mid-1960s. His growly folk, soul and R&B music was “warmly received” as he toured, recorded and produced albums in the late 60s and 70s. He continues to perform with his “Celtic Soul” sound in solo events and in numerous collaborations and in his career has received 6 Grammy Awards and been inducted into both the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Songwriters Hall of Fame.

Included below are TWO widely varied songs. Van Morrissons’ musical talents stretch the gamut, from his relatively recent recording of the 1952 Back Street Affair and his first hit single Brown Eyed Girl in 1967. No matter ones musical taste, it is hard not to appreciate as least something written or performed by Van Morrisson.

Brown Eyed Girl (MP3) Van Morrisson – 1967
Back Street Affair (written in 1952) (MP3) Van Morrisson – 2008
