Happy ‘biodiesel’ Earth Day :-)

TullipHappy Earth Day … I guess that’s what you’re suppose to say? (click for larger macro photo of Tullip)
It has been a beautiful couple of days in Cincinnati and I’ve been lax in posting and instead I’m getting the swimming pool opened, tuning up lawn equipment (fixing actually) and finishing a first compete grass cutting of the season — sort of cut it once early in the month? We also spread some new composed garden top-soiled and readied it for seed. Its been a tiring weekend, but enjoyable one just the same. At least today we were able to at least enjoy another rugby game … unfortunately another lopsided loss but all had a good time with a well coached team.

Biodiesel made a small headline today too as California’s Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger was on with MTV’s “Pimp My Ride” showing off a classic Chevy Impala with a hot rod biodiesel power plant. The show aired on Earthday … April 22 … 37 years after it started in 1970 by Gaylord Nelson, a United States Senator from Wisconsin. (I’ll post a link to the MTV episode when it appears on the Internet — LINK … for now here’s a news clip.)

    Hey Rich,

Michael was impressed with Taylor’s ruggedness at the rugby match. In talking with Taylor afterward (he stopped by the house – with pizza in hand – Yum), I was pleased to see that his eye injury had healed and that his willingness to mix it up did not produce new injuries (at least no new visual injuries).

Here’s something I ran across. May not be something that interests you, but then again, since it’s bio-fuel related, you may find blog fodder.

    Stay cool.

Excellent article Tom … thanks. (I’ve already posted it to a forum that I participate in)

As for the Rugby … I’m proud of Taylor as he has really stepped up as a team leader and is regularly calling plays and directing less experienced players. He is quite taken with the sport and has never backed off mixing it up with some pretty big and aggressive guys. He rarely complains about his bumps and bruises … and his regular bloody nose. (I pulled him aside this week, but he quickly said, “I don’t need to come out … see the bleeding has stopped.” That’s dedication when they were short handed. He did come home with a swollen knee this past week … it bothered me a little bit as ‘we’ both know a few middle aged men with bad shoulders and knees.

BTW … Taylor mentioned that you’ve been getting back in shape?
