Local Jatrodiesel facility now producing biodiesel

Jatrodiesel LogoRaj Mosali of Jatrodiesel, headquartered in Mason Ohio announced that their Miamisburg biodiesel facility up and running. (see post from last year) The new facility has a current capacity of 10,000 gallons and will eventually be able to produce 15,000 gallons per day. The newly opened production facility is looking for buyers and is willing to sell biodiesel to individuals in smaller quantities, even as low as 100 gallons. Perhaps the biodiesel advocates in the Dayton and Cincinnati area will be able to negotiate a group purchase price — contact me if you are interested.

Has anybody had any experience with Jatrodiesel? Are their plants operating full?

  • No direct experience in running their fuels, but their Miamisburg Ohio plant is producing product. We are hoping to work with them at the 2008 TDIFest in Mason Ohio to supply biodiesel. Currently ‘they say’ they are working on 9 plants … 2 of which are under construction. They also release a news brief this month in regard to Algae Biodiesel.

“JatroDiesel unveiled a fully integrated Algae oil extraction technology. The system will be commercially available in August, 2008.
The system will take the wet Algae and will extract Oil using chemicals. The extraction efficiency is 90% (*depending on the strain).”

I have been using Biodiesel for about 3 years now.

Used their fuel for both Home heating (100%) and in my car (B10 to B20) throughout the Winter, didn’t have any issues, looking forward to using higher percentages in Summer. The fuel price on average was 20 to 25 cents cheaper.

  • Great feedback. I’m hoping to get Jatrodiesel as a supplier for the TDIFest in Mason Ohio over Labor Day weekend 2008.
