Angel Food Cake, Strawberries and Whipped Cream Leftovers

Although few of us getting older really want to spend too much time highlighting “yet another” birthday, last weekend was mine … so I celebrated by hauling 68 pounds of aluminum cans to the recycler (above). Since we were with KDAE the previous weekend … and Taylor stops in regularly (twice this past week) and was working a garage sale with Megan and her mom (his haul below), Brenda and I enjoyed the weekend together.
All in all it was nice to just be with Brenda — we worked in the yard on Saturday and since it rained on Sunday (my birthday), I only did what I wanted. HA! 
Brenda did a bang up job in fixing a few favorites of mine for dinner and let me have Sunday afternoon to work in the workshop and watch the NASCAR race from Kansas Speedway (a great race BTW). Besides the Shimp Tempura and spring rolls (recent Costco favorites) she made her “ginger dressing” for salads and my favorite Angel Food Cake with Strawberries and whipped cream for dessert. Very tasty and leftovers too.
Another warranty claim, this time on my Ember twice-a-day heated coffee mug (previous was the Peak Design messenger bag); the pins in the coaster will not stay in contact with the charging ring on the mug. So far, a little proof of purchase and their customer support says they will be sending me a new coaster.
