Music Monday: The Drifters and Under the Boardwalk

Posted By on February 5, 2018

One of the longest running names in “R&B” and “doo wap” music is the Hall of Fame vocal group called The Drifters.  They have been performing and recording music since the early 1950s  (according to Wikipedia their “Years active are 1953 – present day!”) Obviously I did not know them from that early era, but I do remember their music coming from my mom’s kitchen radio. I suspect I may have even enjoyed some of their music as a boy … and certainly “feel good” when I hear it now.

Here’s a song from 1964 that has been recorded by many others … and “even the casual rock and roll fan” will know it.
