Tax Credits on Used EVs end this month, but read the fine print

You would think that I would be acutely on top of things when it comes to finance, and things such as buying and selling used cars and electric vehicles (Ok, not so much EVs). That is not the case as I found out this week when communicating with my son-in-law who is in the process of selling his Tesla Model 3.
Come to find out there is a workaround when making a private sale of an EV, and still being able to take the tax credit. Drew brought to my attention and pointed me to Keysavvy.com … which act as an escrow “dealership” and transfers from a seller to a dealer and then from the dealer to the buyer for a fee … avoiding the private party to another private party problem – a loophole if you will. This could provide a way for savvy sellers
and buyers to still take advantage of the up to $4000 tax credit for the purchase of an EV under $25,000.
