Humor: Just thought this was funny

| August 1, 2010

Grabbed a few frame in slow motion from the TV screen with my Palm Pre this weekend; maybe it is just me, but found it funny seeing a squirrel dart out while Motorweek was filming a road test on a car. No harm … [flv:mw_squirrel.flv 480 355]

Accolades for the 2009 Volkswagen Sportwagen TDI

| May 23, 2009

The long running automotive magazine program Motorweek praised the 2009 Volkwagen Jetta TDI as their 2009 Driver’s Choice pick for car of the year, while not mentioning the sister “Sportwagen” TDI … until today. _

Motorweek.org talks biodiesel in recent PBS episode

| March 14, 2009

Although there were a few things missing in this episode of the PBS Motorweek, I did enjoy seeing and hearing biodiesel still being promoted. I particularly enjoy their highlighting the ‘Appleseed’ processor! (how do you like that @girlmark)

Motorweek picks 2009 VW Jetta TDI as Drivers’ Choice

| February 14, 2009

For those of us already familiar with the new clean diesel breeds, it will come as no surprise that long running PBS automotive program Motorweek selected the 2009 Volkswagen Jetta TDI as the Drivers’ Choice Award winner. I just drove the Jeep Liberty diesel (again) last week and was planning to make some comments on the vehicle … unfortunately a blog post in AutoBlogGreen mentioned that the Detroit News indicated Daimler Chrysler would be killing the CRD. According to the articles, the new tougher federal emissions standards coming next year make it […]

Fuel Efficient Driving

| April 2, 2006

An interesting segment on the PBS program Motorweek compared the driving style of two very different drivers. One driver was Henry Kopacz, one of the program’s staff test drivers who has a heavier foot and simulated an aggressive driving technique. The other was the director of the US Department of Energy’s Clean Cities program, Dennis […]

Motorweek turns 25

| February 4, 2006

PBS’s Motorweek celebrated 25 years of reporting on the auto world this past weekend and after taking a look back, also looked ahead to what is in our automotive future. Since I’ve been tinkering with video and encoding this weekend, I’ll include the tail end clip that mentions of diesel making a comeback and visions […]
