Wishing a Happy Mother’s Day to Brenda and Katelyn … and Happy Birthday to my daughter too

Blooming love’s embrace,
Mother’s heart, radiant grace,
Forever cherished.

While listening to a news program a couple of weeks ago, the morning hosts talked about receiving too many long, overly wordy interoffice emails and notes; I assume journalists can be longwinded? A Haiku challenge ensued.

Haiku (俳句) is a type of short form poetry originally from Japan. Traditional Japanese haiku consist of three phrases composed of 17 phonetic units (called on in Japanese, which are similar to syllables) in a 5, 7, 5 pattern that include a kireji, or “cutting word” and a kigo, or seasonal reference.

So for Mother’s Day 2023, I’m using a ChatGPT written Haiku poem (above) …  and am including odd, but unique, “turtle slap” video especially for Brenda (turtles are a long running Brenda joke). We are looking forward to a visit from Taylor and Megan for Mother’s Day and will be in spirit with my daughter Katelyn … mom to our two beautiful granddaughters … and wishing her a Happy Birthday too (see you soon. Hm, what were we doing last year?).
